Guinness World Records was formally known as The Guinness Book of World Records, which was first published in 1954. The book was a reference / fact book that was first started from an idea by Sir Hugh Beaver. Today, the Jim Pattison Publishing company owns the rights to the book.

Sysco was founded in 1969 and is headquartered in Houston, TX. They are a global leader in the food industry. Sysco sells, distributes, and markets a wide variety of food products. There is a ton of great history in GE. Personally, Thomas Edison has always been one of my heroes, so conducting research on GE is going to be very interesting.

Herman Miller, Inc

Herman Miller was a West Michigan businessman who helped his son-in-law, D.J. De Pree, buy the Michigan Star Furniture Company in 1923. De Pree had been working at the company, which opened in 1905, since he was hired in 1909 as a clerk. De Pree knew his father-in-law was a man of integrity, so he decided to rename the company after him.
